When they arrived at the threshing floor of Nacon,[a] Uzzah reached out and grabbed hold of[b] the ark of God,[c] because the oxen stumbled. The Lord was so furious with Uzzah,[d] he[e] killed him on the spot[f] for his negligence.[g] He died right there beside the ark of God.

David was angry because the Lord attacked[h] Uzzah; so he called that place Perez Uzzah,[i] which remains its name to this very day.
